Nora commissioned as an artist to create live art on site.
Biography
Artist Nora Swanson has offered a wide span of festival entertainment
characters and innovative costuming in Colorado for 14 years.
She started designing and building costumes blending the influences
of European aesthetics and Chinese kite technology to bring
a fresh approach to her event characters.
She has performed at countless fairs and festivals including
the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, The Vail Arts Festival, Larimer
County Fair and the Mayors Office of Art Culture and Film
Performing Festival to name just a few.
She has produced well over a hundred costumes, along with
innovative designs for the Downtown Denver Partnership’s
Parade of Lights for the last several years.
“I keep in mind that form follows function, fun follows
fancy when I design costumes so as to maximize the creative
and also enjoyable to wear elements into my work.”
Nora is known throughout Colorado as one of the top stilt
walkers in the state; she’s even able to dance on stilts!
Some of her stilt walking characters include “Ping,”
a colorful ostrich as well as an iridescent butterfly!
